Sierra Fury 1150 Package

$7 982.29

Dive-Xtra Sierra 1150 Fury Package - (Tail, lithium ion battery, lithium charger, spares kit, Fury body) RRP USD $ 6,270.00

The Sierra Fury 1150 is the smallest of the Fury lithium Ion powered X-Scooters, Its exactly the same size and weight as a standard Sierra, but with 4 times the run time. That’s over 4 hours of cruise time. If you were thinking the standard Nickel Metal Hydride powered Sierra was exactly what you needed, but longer run times would be nice, this is the scooter for you.
Sierra Fury 1150 is sold as a package, however any standard body Sierra can be upgraded to a Fury 1150 by just replacing the battery.

The standard body Sierra X-Scooter is the lightest scooter in the Dive Xtras family, at only 37lbs/16kgs it offers plenty of power for all your diving needs while being small enough to transport and carry easily. Due to the lithium battery, the Fury Sierra 1150 is not suitable for airline travel though.

The Sierra X-Scooters are all modular in design so that you can interchange parts to create the scooter for your specific diving needs. The Fury 1150 is compatible with all existing Sierra bodies and batteries. It can be balanced in fresh or saltwater via the integrated weighting system. X-Scooters use the latest technology, including brushless motors, Liion batteries and electronic speed control. Trigger Shift on the Fly allows the user to select any one of 5 speeds with a simple click of the trigger.

While the endurance of the Fury lithium batteries is amazing there are some facts that should be considered when evaluating a Fury scooter.

  • Lithium batteries of this size are considered hazardous materials and so you cannot take them on a passenger airline nor ship them easily **
  • The Fury batteries are expensive and contain a lot of energy. Special note of these facts should be considered if you like to abuse your equipment or don’t follow usage instructions well.
  • Shipping is only available to commercial US addresses and some selected major international airports
  • Battery disclosure sheet must be read and signed prior to shipping.

The lithium Fury Batteries require a disclaimer to be read and signed prior to shipping.
If you intend to purchase a Fury battery, please read and sign (with witness) the below form and return to us.

Sierra Disclaimer

** Lithium-Ion batteries of this size and weight are considered to be hazardous materials, as covered by DOT CFR 49, Parts 173.185, and 172.102Transportation is prohibited on passenger airlines. This greatly impacts the ease of transportation. These batteries cannot be legally carried on to passenger aircraft, carried as checked baggage on passenger aircraft, or shipped without a hazardous materials declaration, by a licensed carrier. Other prohibitions and regulations may exist for both domestic and foreign shipments.

Fury Sierra 1150

All Scooters are a compromise of weight, thrust and runtime.  Battery chemistry plays a large part in the final performance envelope.  Batteries that offer greater specific energy or energy per unit weight, will add performance without adding weight.

Currently the highest practical specific energy rechargeable batteries are cylindrical Lithium Cobalt Dioxide also referred to as LiCoO2.

LiCoO2 provides about 1.5 times the specific energy of Lithium Iron Phosphate batteries.

LiCoO2 batteries do carry a greater risk of fire or explosion, but sound pack and charger design mitigate these risks.

Unbalanced cells are the primary cause of LiCoO2 failures.

The DSS Lithium Batteries start with closely matched cells, and these cells are assembled using a unique topology that tends to passively “self balance” the cells.  This method eliminates the requirement for and potential problems induced by active balancing circuits or balancing chargers.

Active Balancing Circuits are often used to compensate for poorly matched cells and poor pack design.

DSS Lithium Ion packs feature massively paralleled celled.  Constructed using Inverter Controlled Fine Resistance Spot welding these packs are mechanically robust.

Designed to a be drop in replacements for the OEM NiMh battery packs used in Dive Xtras scooters these packs include rugged CNC machined cases, internal voltage and current protection, and all necessary leads and connectors.

When matched with the DSS MKII and MKIII chargers these batteries offer the greatest possible performance available today.

The Cuda Fury 1150 Battery is nominally 44.4 volts @ 26 amp hour and requires the MKIII charger.

The Sierra Fury 1150 Battery is nominally 22.2 volts @ 52 amp hours and requires the MKII charger.
